Movie Review: Night of the Living Dead (1968)

I'm just going to say it: 50s and 60s horror movies were awesome. The absence of special effects and certain technologies, allowed for the movie to put all of it's effort into making a good story. In fact, it still surprises me that certain horror moves from that time period, were flops. Fortunately, Night of the Living Dead, isn't one of them. The main reason why this movie is cool is the story. Basically, a zombie apocalypse occurs and all of zombies trap a group of people inside a house. This movie does a great job of showing how people work with each other in times of distress. It's what The Walking Dead has been doing forever. The movie is also all in black and white, so the close up shots of the zombies are freaking creepy. Overall, solid performances and storyline make Night of the Living Dead a classic horror movie. Three Stars
