Movie Review: Jurassic Park (1993)
I remember picking this movie up on VHS, it was the exact picture that is posted above, I didn't know what it was. All I know, is that the reaction that I had before I saw it, and after I saw it, was vastly different. So, Jurassic Park is basically a movie about this group of explorers who find a way to recreate dinosaurs using DNA leftover in dead mosquitoes. Then, the explorers bring this theory to a group of scientists and it succeeds. Somewhere along the way, someone thinks it would be cool to give rebirth to dinosaurs and put them in an amuesment park. It sounds awesome, and the truth is, it is. Jurassic Park is a story that is so unique because it actually makes logical sense. The theory behind how we can create new dinosaurs makes so much sense when you first hear it. It's almost like someone had put a mental block over that part of your mind. Anyway, this movie literally was my whole life after I saw it. I only saw it once, and in fact I do still have the VHS copy of the film. Most people who grew up in the 90s will look back on this movie with fond memories, it is a nostalgic film. Yes, there are sequels to this movie, but the first one is probably some of the best science fiction I have ever seen. Four stars.
