Movie Review: Scream (1996)

It's really hard to review Scream. Yeah that is my opening sentiment on this. Scream is a movie that spoofs horror movies, while also being a horror movie itself. It sounds simple, and to some it may sound complicated, but all the talent of Scream flies in its ability to crossover with other genres. The movie starts out with Drew Barrymore getting a call from this stalker with this creepy voice. The first scene is a spoof. Everything else after that is a downright horror movie that contains funny parts. Scream actually does have a place on my list of top 25 films. Remind me to post that list. Anyway, Scream goes back and forth from horror and comedy, while sometimes mixing both together in one scene. You'll be scared a little, but laugh out of uncomfortable scene viewing.  Overall, Scream crosses genres and combines scares and horror storyline with a light and funny one. Two and a half stars.
