What Matters: Drake & Josh
Drake And Josh is a live-action Nickelodeon television show that ran from 2004-2007. The show ran for four seasons and is one of my personal favorite Nickelodeon shows of all time. This is the first edition of What Matters, which is a new blog post that I've recently introduced. The reason I'm talking to you about this show is because not only is it a staple of my childhood, but it's also a great show for family. The show stars Drake Bell and Josh Peck as two high schoolers. After their parents meet and fall in love, they become step brothers. Along with their sister Megan (young Miranda Cosgrove). One of the things that I always loved on this show was the way that Drake and Josh's personalities bounced off of each other. Drake is a cool guy (popular w/girls, guitar player). That being said, he's not a very good student. Josh on the other hand, is a very good student and who struggles to be popular. The two of these guys become very unlikely friends and develop a bond that is rarely seen in 21st century television. The Odd Couple is a good example of what this show models in modern society. One brother is neat and organized while the other is messy and disorganized. Now I've seen every episode ever made (including two made-for-TV movies). To this day, I still laugh at this program. The writing behind each of the characters is excellent. As well as the carefully designed conflicts that make the show humorous and zany. As far as my favorite episodes go I'd have to say all of season 1, as well as "Eric Punches Drake" Let's talk about what this show meant to me growing up. First off, I remember first seeing Drake and Josh when it premiered back in 2004. I loved it then and years later I can still enjoy it. I cannot convey how much anyone should check this show out. It's a funny, realistic, and entertaining Nickelodeon series that makes it one of my personal favorites.
